Pregnant Kimberley Walsh has revealed she is ‘really happy’ for her former Girls Aloud bandmate Cheryl, who is said to be expecting her first child.
The 34-year-old gushed over the Fight For This Love hitmaker, 33, in an interview with the Daily Star‘s TV Life magazine, where she spoke of her happiness for her pal although coyly stated she did not want to ‘go in to too much detail’.
Speculations over Cheryl’s pregnancy with boyfriend Liam Payne is reaching fever pitch, with Kimberley’s kind words being the latest in a long line of hints.
Kimberley is already mum to two-year-old Bobby with husband Justin Scott, who she married in a romantic ceremony in Barbados in January, and in June the duo announced they are expecting their second child.
While the blonde beauty is proudly discussing her imminent arrival and showing off her bountiful bump, Cheryl remains coy about her alleged pregnancy despite showing off a rounded stomach and the fabled new mother glow.
The bandmates have remained firm friends since Girls Aloud disbanded in 2013 and fans will no doubt cling to Kimberley’s words avidly in regard to Cheryl’s happiness.
She told the magazine: ‘Yes, I’m really happy that she’s happy. I don’t really want to go into too much detail on that because I feel it’s something that she should speak about, but to know she’s happy makes me happy.’
Cheryl confirmed her relationship with One Direction hunk Liam earlier this year shortly after the demise of her short-lived marriage to French businessman Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini.
Her divorce was finalised when she was granted a decree nisi in just 14 seconds at a London court last Thursday morning.
Pregnancy speculation has surrounded Cheryl and Liam for over a month, kicking off when her beloved mother Joan Callaghan was spotted buying baby goods.
Kimberley previously told the Sunday People that the Parachute singer is a natural with children, and will make a caring mother when she decides to have her own.
She said: ‘She’s really happy right now. And she’ll be a brilliant mum. She has loads of nieces and nephews, so she’s used to the madness of children. Both she and (fellow Girls Aloud star) Nicola Roberts are naturally good with kids.’
The singer added that Cheryl and former band mate Nicola, 31, often show off their broody sides by making regular visits to Kimberley’s home to play with her sweet toddler Bobby.
