OkCupid Blocks Firefox Browser Because Of Anti-Gay CEO Brendan Eich.

A couple of days after top executives of Mozilla resigned. There is more public backlash after the selection of Brendan Eich as the new CEO of Mozilla because he is opposed to gay marriage and it’s alleged that he donated $1,000 in support of Proposition 8, Proposition 8 is a California ballot measure from 2008 that banned same-sex marriage.

OkCupid is asking its users to forgo using a Firefox browser as a form of protest against Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich.

Today, anyone who visited OkCupid on the Mozilla Firefox, was greeted with a message that asks them to switch browsers. “Mozilla’s new CEO, Brendan Eich, is an opponent of equal rights for gay couples,” the message reads. “We would therefore prefer that our users not use Mozilla software to access OkCupid.”

The page however allows a link to the website using Firefox via a link at the bottom of the page — but strongly suggests alternative browsers such as Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer, or Opera.
