Amezing: Harry Potter Baby Photo Shoot

Illinois-based family photographer Kayla Glover dressed up her now 5-month-old daughter Lorelai in August for what is perhaps the most magical baby photo shoot ever.

Sporting rounded black spectacles, a Gryffindor scarf and an Ash wand, Lorelai is shown sitting in a black cauldron, wide-eyed, surrounded by Harry Potter books.

“The best part is those glasses are actually mine from when I was a teenager!” Glover, 29, tells PEOPLE. “I got them at a midnight release party for Order of the Phoenix in 2003 and kept them all these years, so it’s really full circle.”

Glover, a die-hard fan, decided on a Harry Potter-inspired shoot because the books resonated with her growing up – and she hopes to share them with Lorelai when she’s older.

“I just love the mixing of worlds, of fantasy and reality,” she explains. “It’s sort of like photography in that way. You’re able to incorporate different elements of fact and fiction.”

Glover picked up her first Harry Potter book at the age of 10 and immediately fell in love with the wizarding world.

“I don’t remember life without Harry Potter, it might sound weird, but it’s been one of my oldest friends!” she says.

Glover, a professional photographer at Kayla Layla Photographer, says she knew she wanted to incorporate Harry Potter into a photoshoot when she was pregnant with her daughter.

“I wanted it to be a part of her childhood!” she says. “Once she reached an age where she could hold a wand and interact with the camera, everything came together.”

So, Glover borrowed the wand and scarf from her 19-year-old niece, took the cauldron from her mother (an old Halloween decoration) and used her own original Harry Potter books to set up the shoot.

“I think the pictures resonate with people because Harry Potter is so personal to so many people,” says Glover. “They are magical photos.”

The mother plans on taking her daughter to Universal Orlando’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Florida next year when she turns one.

“I want her to grow up in a world of magic and happiness and Harry Potter,” she says. “Just like I did.”
