saying that AIIMS doctors and Apollo continue to provide him with “rescue measures.”
Rejecting the reports as “totally unfounded and false,” Apollo asked the news channels to rectify their “mistake.”
The confusion seized Tamil Nadu while the news of the “Jayalalithaa Death” was broadcast by the Tamil news channels and taken over by the national media.
Soon a fight broke out between the AIADMK supporters and the police with the former throwing stones and barricades up outside the hospitals of Apollo in Chennai.
The police, deployed in large numbers to avoid any untoward incident, were forced to resort to the lathicharge.
Even the party flag was seen flying mid-mast at AIADMK headquarters in Royapettah after reports of his death, but he was hoisted once again after the hospital issued a denial.
The Chief Minister, who has been in Apollo since September 22, suffered cardiac arrest on Sunday night.
Members of the party must meet later in the evening, apparently to develop the next plan of action.
Although party sources did not reveal the agenda for the evening’s meeting, they nevertheless confirmed that legislators would discuss key issues.

The AIADMK leader suffered the hours of cardiac arrest.
After his party told the media that he has completely recovered and will soon return home.
With the extreme devotion she inspires among her supporters, many of whom refer to her as “Amma” (mother), there are concerns that a serious deterioration of her condition could cause unrest.
The police were alerted through Tamil Nadu and outside his official residence in Chennai (Madras).
There have already been fights outside the hospital, following inaccurate reports of his death in the Indian media.
The reports have since been withdrawn, and a flag flying mid-mast on the seat of his party was hoisted once more.
Born in 1948, Jayalalithaa began her career as an actress in South Indian films.
In 1982, she joined AIADMK, founded by her mentor, MG Ramachandran. She first became Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu in 1991.
She has ruled the state for over 15 years.
