French football legend David Ginola has been cheating on his wife of 25 years with a model almost half his age, it has been reported.
The 49-year-old is said to be head over heels in love with French model Maeva Denat, who is 27.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle star had said he planned to ‘live life to the full’ following an almost fatal heart attack in May.
It is believed that there was an angry confrontation after Maeva, a mother of one, tried to see Ginola in the hospital after the incident, to the consternation of his wife Coraline, 48.
The pair were pictured walking arm in arm and hugging in Paris in September by The Sun on Sunday.
A source told the newspaper: ‘Maeva is mad about David, and the feeling is mutual.
‘The only sad part of it all is David’s wife Coraline, who is naturally devastated about what has happened.
‘It’s uncanny how Maeva looks just like Coraline when she started out with David in the 1990s.’
As a result of the affair, it is now believed that Coraline has stopped using her married name Ginola and is instead using Delpin.
Ginola suddenly fell to the ground during a charity match at the home of Jean-Stéphane Camerini in the Mandelieu region of France, in May.
As his friends gathered to help him, they noticed Ginola had swallowed his tongue and stopped breathing.
Ginola credits his friend, footballer Frederic Mendy, with performing CPR on him until an air ambulance crew arrived with a defibrillator.
He needed to be caught four times before being transported by air to a hospital in Monaco, where he underwent a four-hour bypass operation for four hours to clear his blocked arteries.
Following his retirement from the sport in 2002, Ginola – famed for his good looks and being the first man to front L’Oreal products in the 1990s – admitted he had not been leading a healthy lifestyle.
He had increased his smoking and drinking and the night before his heart attack had stayed up late at a Chris Brown concert.
Since the end of his career, which saw him win 17 caps, Ginola has gone on to become a pundit with BT Sport, Canal Plus, CNN and M6.
