Jesy Nelson has slammed reports that she is no longer engaged to her fiancé of 18 months, Jake Roche.
The Little Mix star sparked split rumours last week after she unfollowed the Rixton member on Instagram, with reports of a heated argument between the pair further fuelling the fire.
But the singer, 25, has finally broken her silence on the speculation by claiming the couple are still ‘very much in love’.
Quite the contrary to parting ways, Jesy also admitted that they were in ‘no rush’ to tie to knot and explained the reason why they got engaged was to add more meaning to their relationship.
Speaking candidly to Idolator when asked about her nuptials, she revealed: ‘When my fiancé proposed to me, he’d never done it like, “We’re getting married tomorrow.” He felt like when he called me his girlfriend, it wasn’t enough.’
And while Jesy confessed that merely being boyfriend and girlfriend ‘undermined’ their relationship, she also disclosed no haste in saying ‘I do’.
The pop princess added: ‘We’re in no rush. We want to travel the world together. There’s so much we want to do together, and at the moment, we’re focused on our own careers that there just isn’t time.
‘I think when we know, we’ll know, and we’ll do it, and [it will] probably be really intimate, hardly any people there. We’re very much in love, and we’ll do it when we feel the time is right,’ she gushed.
Jesy also divulged that her dream wedding would be ‘intimate’ with only her close friends and family in attendance.
But despite looking to the future, the past couple of days have been quite rocky for the twosome, especially on the social media front.
Rixton rocker Jake, 24, continued to cause concern among fans as he shared a series of images of black clouds on Instagram and Twitter with no captions on Tuesday.
Concerned fans immediately reached out to the son of Coleen Nolan and Shane Richie, with one commenting: ‘Hope ur ok’, whilst another asked: ‘is this about jesy?’
One very confused follower demanded to know: ‘WHAT DOES THIS MEAN ROCHE’ whilst another asked if this could just be hinting at new music, posting: ‘I think this is the hint of new album of yours [sic].’
Meanwhile, Jesy also took to Instagram, but just to share a picture of her face in a distorted filter.
The couple sparked rumours of a split after it emerged they had unfollowed each other on Instagram and Jesy stopped wearing her engagement ring to public engagements.
Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards were also asked about their bandmate’s decision not to wear her ring, but lost their temper in spectacular fashion as they refused to answer the question during an interview in Australia this week.
After screeching to Nova 969’s radio hosts Fitzy & Wippa that the question was ‘brutal’, Jade then took it upon herself to screw up the questions and throw them away.
Taken aback by the blunt line of questioning, Jade, 23, screeched: ‘That’s brutal that!’ whilst Perrie agreed: ‘That’s brutal, you just came out with that.’
Jake and Jesy have been engaged for a year and a half after the singer employed the help of Ed Sheeran to propose to Jesy in July 2015, while on stage at the Manchester Evening News Arena.
However, the pair reportedly had a big falling out earlier this month, with a source telling The Sun: ‘Jesy and Jake had a huge barney – it wasn’t pretty.
‘They’re not a couple who avoid rows easily but this was different and could signal the end of their relationship…
‘Neither is giving much away as to what caused the fallout but clearly harsh words were said.’
