Man Killed of NC Cop Arrested In Rhode Island

State Police arrested a Rhode Island man who was wanted Wednesday in the shooting death of Police Officer Tim Brackeen North Carolina.

According to WSOC-TV, members of the SWAT team took 23-year-old Irving Lucien Fenner custody around 2:35 am in an apartment in Coventry, Rhode Island. Police said Fenner was taken to a hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound he suffered in the deadly incident Brackeen.

Brackeen, Shelby officer, was shot in the chest 12:20 a.m. Saturday while looking for Fenner, who had failed to appear at a court date August on charges of carrying a concealed minor marijuana and gun possession, according to the Charlotte Observer. as the authorities have accused Fenner attempted murder in the shooting of Brackeen.

The Shelby Star reported Tuesday that two arrests were made in connection with the shooting death of the officer. Shelby police captain. Deitria Seate said Steve Morris was arrested as an accessory after the fact.

Brackeen, a veteran department 12 years, wearing a bulletproof vest when he was shot, authorities said. He had served as an officer K9 and was married to a daughter. Brackeen was named Officer of the Year in 2012.

“He’s a good guy and very considerate. He is everything you want in a police officer,” Shelby Mayor Stan Anthony told The Shelby Star. “It’s so hard to see something like this happen to him.”
