French Guiana’s Sebastien Bascoules is a math teacher by trade but has been catching snakes since he was a boy.
So when he heard that an anaconda had eaten his friend’s dog, the 39-year-old took it upon himself to rid his community of the giant reptile.
With the help of a few friends, Bascoules used nothing but his bare hands to capture the 17-foot, 175-pound beast and release it into the wild, miles from civilization.
Far more frightening than actually capturing the snake, however, was Bascoules’ decision to keep the snake in his bathtub overnight and even let his kids play with it as soon as its mouth was neutralized.
