Adam Woodyatt Recovering His Son In Coma After Being Car Crash

EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt has revealed that his son is recovering after a horrific car accident.

The Ian Beale actor told the harrowing story of how Sam was crossing the road in September when he got hit by a car.

Although he has now almost fully recovered, Adam explained how his son had to be airlifted to hospital and put in an induced coma.

Up until a week ago, Sam was in a wheelchair, and then moved onto crutches before walking up the staircase unaided on Friday (November 18).

Adam is running the Virgin Money London Marathon in April 2017 to raise money for the Air Ambulance Service.

And it turns out he’d actually planned to raise money for the service before the accident too.

“Having been an ambassador for the Air Ambulance Service for many years, I wanted to more actively fundraise now that both of my children have gone to university,” he explained.

“I then talked it through with my son Sam in mid-September and we came up with the idea of him running it and me walking it as a kind of tortoise and the hare to show the difference in transfer times between an ambulance and an air ambulance.”

He had “got [them] two places for the London Marathon then this happened”.

The EastEnders legend described his son’s recovery as “amazing”, and revealed that they will “continue with the original plan”.
