Angela Lansbury Sing A Song For Film ‘Beauty and the Beast’ For 25th Anniversary

Dame Angela Lansbury might be best known for her role in TV’s Murder She Wrote but she’s also loved for playing a character in Disney film Beauty and the Beast.

And fans at a screening of the 1991 animated classic got a huge surprise as the 90 year old actress took to the stage and performed the hit song from the film.

The actress sang title song Beauty and the Beast in front of an audience who were celebrating the film’s 25th anniversary in New York.

Beauty and the Beast made history as the first animated feature film to receive an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. The title song also won plenty of awards on its initial release, including the Academy Award for Best Original Song and the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.

A live action remake is being made starring Emma Watson as heroine Belle and Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens as the Beast.
