VH1 announced a second season of “Dating Naked” on Monday, and also confirmed that the entire wedding party will be naked for the show’s first “Naked Wedding” this Thursday night.
VH1 said the first season of “Dating Naked,” in which two strangers are sent out on an adventure date in a warm place, has averaged a million viewers a week.
The network also said that 12 people who met on “Dating Naked” now consider themselves in a relationship with each other. This Thursday at 9, two of them will tie the knot.
Ashley, an artist from Colorado and Alika, a yoga instructor from California, will exchange vows in front of their families, friends and other “Dating Naked” couples.
No one will be wearing clothes, which means the VH1 pixillation department will be working overtime.
That department had one slip earlier this year, when it failed to pixillate a brief scene involving New York model Jessie Nizewitz.
The scene went viral and Nizewitz has sued the producers for $10 million. VH1 still says it’s thrilled with the first season.
“ ‘Dating Naked’ has been a ratings success for us and a viewer favorite,” said Executive Vice President Susan Levison in a statement. “VH1 has always been about shaping the cultural conversation and we’re so glad to have created another pop culture lightning rod. The show is funny, engaging, and it actually works. We’ve helped 6 couples find love this season. You’re welcome, America.”
VH1 also said it is taking applications from potential participants in season two, which will air in 2015.
