Steve Lazarides is a famed London art gallery owner popularly known for his role as agent for the graffiti artist, Banksy. He is noted as one of the first figures to help popularise street art, and as an authority on the latest trends in underground art.
He initially started selling works by Banksy out of his car and then later, he officially opened his gallery space in 2006 just as the street art market gained popularity.
In this podcast with Art Market Monitor and Artnet News, Lazarides discusses a wide range of topics from the street art bubble of 2007 to recently curating “BANKSY: The Unauthorised Retrospective” at Sotheby’s London S|2 gallery space.
