Katie Price has been branded ‘disgusting’ after she was accused of ‘gloating’ over accidentally killing a bird in her car.
The former glamour model, 38, caused outrage on social media when she shared a gruesome snap – which has since been deleted – of a small creature mangled in the bumper of her vehicle.
Alongside the photograph, the mother-of-five commented: ‘Nice!! Just send I must of hit a bird’ (sic).
The post offended many of her fans, who bombarded her with angry comments, forcing her to delete the snap, and branded her ‘insensitive’.
Many threatened to unfollow the Loose Women panellist, while others asked why she felt the need to post the ‘disgusting’ photo, reports The Sun.
This is not the first time Katie has caused controversy regarding her treatment of animals.
Earlier this year, she was slammed for shaving patterns into the hair of her pony.
The TV personality posted pictures of her horse with hearts and diamonds engraved into its back, prompting outrage.
A spokesman for animal rights organisation PETA said in a statement at the time: ‘An unskilled groomer could easily nick a horse with clippers, causing cuts or lesions.
‘Clipping patterns into a horse’s hair is about human vanity and reduces smart, sensitive animals to playthings.
‘If Ms Price wishes to shave hearts and diamonds into someone’s hair, we suggest she use her own head and leave animals out of it.’
But Katie was quick to fire back, shutting down any accusation that her actions were cruel or inhumane.
Proving she wasn’t alone in her decision to clip her horses, the Loose Women presenter even posted a grab from a video of British equestrian Mary King showing other horse fanatics how to successfully shave their stallions.
‘Even Mary King clips and dies lessons so #peta bine your beak and anybody else get your facts right before calling me cruel, (sic)’ Katie raged alongside the shot.
Addressing PETA’s comments, a representative for Katie told MailOnline: ‘There is full respect for PETA and the work that they do.
‘However, we are naturally slightly disappointed by their comments, given that clipping is a very common process, causing no harm or upset to the horse, and in fact is carried out by many world class riders.
‘Katie has over fifty different animals on the farm, all of which are cared for and loved by the whole family.’
Katie has been prolific on Instagram of late, recently taking to the picture sharing site to dismiss claims she is pregnant.
The doting mother filmed a video while eating noodles in bed where she insisted her belly was down to a big meal – not due to a new arrival.
The claims came after Katie was seen with a fuller figure on the beach in the Caribbean.
Katie and former stripper husband Kieran Hayler, 29, jetted to Barbados earlier this month to enjoy some alone time, leaving their five kids at home.
The model has son Harvey, 14, with footballer former flame Dwight Yorke, 44, Junior, 11, and Princess, nine, with singer and TV personality Peter Andre, 43, and Jett, three and Bunny, two, with husband Kieran.
