Kylie Minogue Say Same Sex Marriage Is Legalised

Kylie Minogue has revealed she will not get married to English actor Joshua Sasse until Australia has marriage equality.

The couple are joining the ‘Yes’ campaign ahead of the plebiscite in February 2017.

‘We will not get married until this law has passed in Australia,’ Sasse said on the 7 Network.

‘When I found out that gay marriage was illegal in Australia, I was astounded.

‘I simply can’t fathom on any level, whether it’s moral or religious or anything, that I have the right to get married and to marry the person that I love and that somebody else doesn’t because of their sexual orientation.’

Sasse and Minogue, who announced their engagement in February of this year, were reportedly hoping for a summer wedding in Australia. But it turns out they will now have to wait to ensure their LGBTI friends have the same rights as they do.

Their announcement comes as more than 30 leaders from the LGBTI community today met with the Australian Attorney-General George Brandis. It is the first time such a large group of LGBTI organizations met with the Australian Attorney-General on the topic of marriage equality.
