Leaked Clinton Audio: Sanders’ Supporters “Living In Their Parent’s Basement”

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, who is struggling to capture the millennial vote, may have made it more difficult now that a leaked recording of her mocking Bernie Sanders supporters has come to light.

In the recording, Clinton called Sanders supporters “children of the Great Recession” who are “living in their parents’ basement.”

According to Politico, Clinton was “bewildered” by the far-left and the far-right that had taken control of the election.

“There is a strain of, on the one hand, the kind of populist, nationalist, xenophobic, discriminatory kind of approach that we hear too much of from the Republican candidates,” she said. “And on the other side, there’s just a deep desire to believe that we can have free college, free healthcare, that what we’ve done hasn’t gone far enough, and that we just need to, you know, go as far as, you know, Scandinavia, whatever that means, and half the people don’t know what that means, but it’s something that they deeply feel.”

This is the Democratic nominee. She sounds like a conservative complaining about social programs that help the American people. While she is running around the campaign trail pretending to be a progressive she is talking to others saying she is against tuition-free college, universal healthcare, and mocking the millions of young voters who came to the election only because of Sanders. These are the votes she will need to win the election, and instead of listening, she is mocking.

“Some are new to politics completely. They’re children of the Great Recession. And they are living in their parents’ basement,” Clinton said. “They feel they got their education and the jobs that are available to them are not at all what they envisioned for themselves. And they don’t see much of a future.”

She says Sanders supporters are nothing but politically ignorant children who don’t think the economy is working for them.

“If you’re feeling like you’re consigned to, you know, being a barista, or you know, some other job that doesn’t pay a lot, and doesn’t have some other ladder of opportunity attached to it, then the idea that maybe, just maybe, you could be part of a political revolution is pretty appealing,” she said.

“I think we should all be understanding of that,” she added. Showing that she hears their complaints, but won’t support policies that help them.

She is ignoring the reasons that millions flocked to Sanders and are now looking at actual leftist alternatives to her neoliberal policies. She doesn’t care about those graduating college with a failing economy, she believes they should come to her because she won.

Clinton supporters are arguing that Clinton is showing her understanding of these issues in these comments and is not mocking Sanders supporters. While she does say she understands that Sanders ideals are “appealing” she does openly mock them about not understand what they are fighting for.

I think it is also a well-known insult in all circles to accuse people of living in their parent’s basement, and these same Clinton supporters are saying she is again, showing that she understands many of them are stuck at home. I don’t buy it. You don’t use insulting language to show you understand a complex situation. You say that people are stuck living at home because of a failing economy.

Yet, she isn’t arguing that she should be bringing in their ideas and listening to them, she instead implies they don’t know what they want and it’s because they are new to politics.

She isn’t offering them a better future, and instead if taking their ideas for a better economy, a better future, and mocking them.

With Donald Trump putting his foot in his mouth endlessly, this is Clinton’s election to lose, and she seems determined to do so.
