
Steve Dillon (born c. 1962, died 22nd October 2016[citation needed]) is an English comic book artist, from Luton, Bedfordshire, best known for his work with writer Garth Ennis on Hellblazer, Preacher, and The Punisher.
On Saturday morning, graphic novelist and author Warren Ellis wrote a Tweet that read, “I have it confirmed that Steve Dillon has died. He was a giant, and will be much missed.”
Dillon, 53, was an English comic book artist from Luton, Bedfordshire, who was perhaps best known for his work on Hellblazer, Preacher, and The Punisher.

Dillon’s first professional work (published when he was just 16) was the title story in the first issue of Marvel UK’s Hulk Weekly. Dillon went on to draw for Warrior and Doctor Who Magazine, and is known for creating the character of Abslom Daak.
After receiving word of Dillon’s death, fans and fellow artists took to Twitter to pay tribute to the artist. A cause of death has not yet been reported.
