In 2014, Chad Stahelski and David Leitch’s action thriller “John Wick,” about a retired hitman (Keanu Reeves) who’s out for vengeance after the theft of his car and the death of his puppy at the hands of mobsters, became a critical and commercial success. The film’s fight sequences and and visual effects were unanimously praised, as well as Reeves’ performance, which signaled a return to form for the actor.
After the original’s rousing success, a “John Wick” sequel has been in the works since last year, with many of the actors from the first film — Ian McShane (“Deadwood”), John Leguizamo (“Carlito’s Way”), Lance Reddick (“The Wire”), and more — returning for the second. Now, we finally get a glimpse of what the sequel looks like. Watch a brief teaser trailer for “John Wick: Chapter Two” below.
In the teaser, John Wick is being “tailored” for an unknown event. When asked if it’s a formal or social affair, Wick responds coolly, “Social.” After he’s ready, a man tells him to enjoy his party, only for Wick to strap up with a gun in preparation. The full trailer will debut later at the New York Comic-Con, which begins today and runs through October 9th.
“John Wick: Chapter Two” will be released in theaters on February 10, 2017 from Summit Entertainment.
