The Former X Factor winner turned actor Coronation Street Shayne Ward has been left after a sex tape has leaked online ‘a very uncomfortable person’.
The actor Coronation Street – which has won a number of awards for her role Aiden Connor in the ITV soap – has been left humiliated after a video of himself pleasure was published online.
Pictures and video gifs have been circulating on social media, leading to the embarrassment of the star.
A source told The Sun: “This video is years Shayne was alone at the time and it happened when I was on tour with The War of the Worlds..
“It’s so uncomfortable that this has happened. The conversation between him and the woman allegedly have greatly left red-faced.
“He can’t believe anyone would do this.
Ward, who won the second series of X Factor back in 2005 and enjoyed success with singles such as ‘That’s My Goal’, ‘Breathless’ and ‘No Promises’, before becoming an actor playing Aidan Connor on Coronation Street, has been the victim of a leaked sex tape which is said to show the star masturbating. The video has now spread, with GIFs being shared across social media.
Speaking to The Sun, a source told the paper that he was ‘hugely embarrassed’.
“This video is years old. Shayne was single at the time and it happened when he was on tour with War of the Worlds,” they said. “He’s so embarrassed this has happened. The conversation between him and the supposed woman have left him hugely red faced.”
They added: “He can’t believe anyone would do this. He thought it was a private chat and a one-off and only realised he had been catfished after the video emerged today.”
Sam said the video’s release was due to him being ‘catfished’ which means Sam thought he was talking to one person, when in reality he was performing for another, who then recorded the interaction.
Sam fell victim to a similar leak in 2013, after a glamour model he had been sexting revealed some of the naked pictures he had sent to her.
In August, Ward and girlfriend Sophie Austin announced that they were expecting their first child. He was dropped by Simon Cowell’s label Syco, but said there was ‘no bitterness’ between them.
The former X Factor winner, who recently signed another year-long contract for Corrie, has become the latest in a line of male celebrities to be catfished in this way.
Last week, X Factor star Sam Callahan exclusively told The Sun Online about his shame of being recorded performing a series of sex acts on himself.
His video was also circulated on Twitter and Tumblr – just like Shayne’s.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online, Sam told us: “This was a couple of years ago. I was only a teenage lad, I hold my hands up.”
Despite the Twitter account which tried to sell copies of the video being quickly suspended, it made its way onto social media and began circulating, leaving Sam exposed.
He told us: “I was young and foolish back then in 2013 and I was young and foolish in 2014 too, unfortunately I wrongly trusted the person I was speaking to at the time and was completely betrayed and catfished.
“It’s not something that would happen now. I’m way too focused and driven to put myself in that risky situation, but I guess we live and learn.”
