A St. John’s University student was stabbed early Saturday morning while walking off campus.
The student told St. John’s public safety officers that he was walking alone heading east on Kildare Road near Dumfries Pl. when he heard a loud noise behind him.
He said he turned to walk back toward his friends who were a block away when a man approached him and stabbed him once with an unknown object before running away, according to a St. John’s student safety advisory email.
The man is described as being in his 20s.
The student was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
No arrests have been made and police are conducting an investigation.
