
Mark Lippert, the U.S. ambassador to South Korea, was attacked by an unidentified assailant. The man slashed the ambassador in the face with a razor during a public breakfast forum in Seoul. After the assailant was apprehended, Lippert was taken to the hospital.
According to a U.S. official who spoke to the AP, the 40-year-old ambassador’s injuries are not life-threatening. Police are still investigating the attack, and have no further information regarding the identity of the man or his possible motives.
