A teacher at Turkey Creek Middle School in Florida was arrested Friday on allegations she was having sex with one of her students.
Hillsborough detectives say between January and February of this year, 30-year-old Megan Connors established a romantic/sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy.
The relationship progressed over time to kissing and Connors allowing him to inappropriately touch her underneath her clothing. The relationship further progressed to the two having sex multiple times while at the school during school hours.
At times, Connors even pulled him from other classes to do so.
On another occasion, Connors and the boy reportedly left the school grounds in her car and drove to his house where they had sex in his bedroom.
Connors was arrested while at her home and booked into the Hillsborough County Orient Road Jail where she is being held without bond.
She had only been at the school since July of last year. School officials say she will be fired and she will be reported to the state so they can take action against her teaching certificate.
Hillsborough County Schools released the following statement Friday night:
“We are disappointed. We have so many teachers who are doing a great job. This teacher had nothing in her background that indicated any problems. It’s shocking and disappointing.”
There is no indication any other students are involved, however, the investigation is still ongoing.
