Kim Kardashian has made her triumphant return to social media.
The 36-year-old was radio silent on all platforms for nearly a month after she was robbed at gunpoint in Paris on Oct. 3, but that dark time appears to be coming to an end.
On Monday, Kardashian took to Facebook to share a photo of herself in a chair looking at her iPhone, which she captioned, “Downtime #LumeeCollab.” Two links to Halloween-related posts on her website also appeared on Facebook Monday.
Notably, Facebook was the only platform Kardashian used, which is somewhat out of character for the reality star. Before her social media break, Kardashian would have blasted the image across all of her social channels ― especially Instagram and Twitter, since she has far more followers on those platforms than she does on Facebook.
The image was of Kim, who has designed cases for the company before, sitting down with her long locks flawlessly styled as she sat down with her iPhone in hand and a blackberry on her lap.
The image may have been scheduled to appear on Kim’s Facebook for some time.
‘I love that we have so much video footage of our childhood because my dad loved filming us!’, the post read.
‘This one is from Halloween 1982. Made for such amazing memories to look back on. I have clearly been a into dressing up as Wonder Woman for a really long time (see photos of me as a superhero from last year). Watch this clip of Kim and I as toddlers.’
The video was of Kim and Kourtney, dressed as a pumpkin and Wonder Woman respectively, and was recorded by their father, the late Robert Kardashian.
The handwritten note read: ‘Hey guys, so you may have noticed we haven’t updated the app in a couple weeks,
‘Keeks is taking some much needed time off. But not to worry guys we’ve called upon kims closest friends, fam & yours truly to serve up some exclusives,
‘Stay tuned for new posts and app takeovers!! Thank you so much for your support for my girl, love you mean it!’
Kim was left fearing for her life when a five-men gang broke into her room at Hôtel de Pourtalès in Paris, France, on October 3, waved a gun in her face, gagged her and tied her up in the bathroom while they raided her drawers and made off with her lavish jewellery worth an estimated $8.5 million.
Should we take Kardashian’s more restrained approach to social media as a sign that she intends to slow down, or is she just pacing herself? After Kardashian was robbed, there was much discussion about how her use of social media likely led to her being targeted and it’s possible that going forward she intends to scale back.
