Jay-Z and Queen B are back in the news again, this time starring in a movie that is never going to be released.
The spectacular 3-minute long trailer is for new film “Run” but has a release date of ‘coming never’. Even though undoubtedly after watching the trailer, most people would happily head to the cinemas to see it.
Filled with violence, car crashes and explosions the new spoof trailer no doubt cost more than most independent releases and certainly had more big names than any indy movie around.
In less than four minutes, the couple managed to have cameos from all the big names in the industry including Sean Penn, Don Cheadle, Guillermo Díaz, Emmy Rossum, Jake Gyllenhaal, Blake Lively, Rashida Jones and Kidada Jones.
In the video, JAY-Z plays a small time gangster who decides to go big and, in doing, so takes his love, played by Beyonce obviously, into a dangerous world that could get them both killed.
Jay-Z is under the mentorship of big time gangster Sean Penn, who warns the up-and-comer that the dangerous game could get both him and his love killed.
The clip opens with the rapper’s character realizing he should have listened the Sean.
The 44-year-old says: ‘I can remember this one time when you told me ”When the shit gets bigger than the cat, get rid of the cat” I didn’t know what the fuck you were talking about till right now.’
And the pair certainly find themselves in a very scary world after they decide to rob a bank.
Both Jay Z and Beyonce are not only on the run from the police, but also main stream gangsters.
The trailer is actually a good marketing campaign for the couple’s tour. This is actually the first movie trailer for a music tour. You have to give it yo them, those two are creative.
The “on the run” tour kicks off next month in Miami and will take the Carters across the United States and Canada until August.
