A driver who was filming himself belting out a song in his car managed to capture the terrifying moment aquaplaned off the road.
Travis Carpenter was traveling from Indianapolis to Whitewater, Wisconsin, when his car crashed at 70 mph.
He had been singing a song by Christian rock band Casting Crowns when his car left the road in heavy rain and down an embankment.
The material shows dashcam file belting lines “Now my life to me Dale before he realizes what is happening and cries of fear.
He ducks as his car comes to a stop after hitting a road sign.
Luckily, Travis did not suffer any injuries in the crash and says his car is still ‘completely driveable’.
He shared the video on Youtube, explaining that he sings when he makes the three to four hour journey to Whitewater and critiques his singing afterwards.
Travis said: ‘I was going 70mph (speed limit) on I65 north. I travel the 3-4 hours by myself every time and use singing as a way to pass time, and critique it later.
‘At this point I was practicing a nasal type voice on a Casting Crowns song when the crash happened. I was watching the road and saw nothing that caused me to worry.
‘[I] simply hydroplaned in heavy rain. My car slid sideways, and then was completely backwards by the time I slid off the road and went down a small hill.
‘I hit a mile marker sign (230) on my way off the road.’
He added: ‘Here are two of the most amazing parts: I sustained NO injuries.
‘Not even a scratch. And my car took NO mechanical damage and is completely driveable. Only body damage.’
