Pottermore is extremely proud to reveal the new Patronus experience. Starting today, registered users can discover their own unique Patronus for the first time. Yes really! And it’s right here.
The Patronus Charm, introduced in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, is a defensive spell that produces a silver, keeper of the animals, which is used to protect a wizard or witch against Dementors. You can find more information about what a Patronus can do here.
Each Patronus takes the form of a different animal that has a special affinity with the casting machine – in the case of Harry, his Patronus is a stag. Hermione’s Patronus is an otter, while Ron is a Jack Russell Terrier.
Now is the time to discover yours. Evoke your happiest memory, and Patronus experience will take you through a beautiful forest where you will be asked to make a series of choices based on a set of cryptic signs written by J. K. Rowling. Your answers will be timed and can only be detected once your Patronus.
There are many ways that your Patronus could adopt; it could be a family animal or, in rarer cases, a creature magic. Answer the mysterious questions, and navigate through the jungle to issue his new friend Patronus.
Once you have opportunities to meet, you can share your results, read the Patronus spell written by J. K. Rowling, or revisiting his Patronus – that can be done at any time.
