Eminem Breaks Yet Another Guinness World Record With “Rap God”

Eminem is set to appear in the next edition of the Guinness Book of World Records once again. According to Billboard, the Shady Records CEO is being recognized for having the most words in a hit single.

Em’s song “Rap God” off his 2013 album The Marshall Mathers LP 2 contains 1,560 words in six minutes and four seconds.

Eminem has received both praise and criticism for the song, which is said to be offensive to homosexuals. However, Eminem clarified his usage of the slurs in questions.

“Not saying it’s wrong or it’s right, but at this point in my career – man, I say so much shit that’s tongue-in-cheek,” Eminem told Rolling Stone. “I poke fun at other people, myself. But the real me sitting here right now talking to you has no issues with gay, straight, transgender, at all.

I’m glad we live in a time where it’s really starting to feel like people can live their lives and express themselves. And I don’t know how else to say this, I still look at myself the same way that I did when I was battling and broke.”

Eminem broke his first world record by having The Marshall Mathers LP become the fastest-selling rap album in a week in 2000 with 1.76 million copies sold.

Eminem joins other rappers like Jay Z, Master P, Twista, 2Pac and Lil Wayne who have all broken world records over the years.

The 2014 edition is set to drop next week and also includes records broken by other artists like Metallica, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Shakira and more.
