Jennifer Lawrence’s Wikipedia Page Hacked As She Breaks Silence on The Fappening

Tuesday morning, Lawrence’s Wikipedia photo alternated between two separate nudes that were leaked of her during the first wave of The Fappening. Concerned fans began to tweet to Wikipedia when they noticed that Jennifer’s photos were being tampered with.

Although few details have ermeged about how Jennifer’s nude photos ended up on her Wikipedia page, it does recall when Emma Watson was threatened by hackers after giving a widely circulated speech on feminism last week. Similarly, Lawrence spoke out about The Fappening for the first time Tuesday in an extensive interview with Vanity Fair. Less than 24 hours later, the naked edit appeared on Jennifer’s Wikipedia page. Some fans noted the coincidence.

Wikipedia seems to have immediately taken care of the briefly appearing nude photos, Jennifer also noted that she believes sites like Reddit are responsible for the content that they host, and that they should held accountable for perpetuating leaks of personal information in events like The Fappening.

“It is not a scandal. It is a sex crime. It is a sexual violation. It’s disgusting. The law needs to be changed, and we need to change. That’s why these Web sites are responsible. Just the fact that somebody can be sexually exploited and violated, and the first thought that crosses somebody’s mind is to make a profit from it. It’s so beyond me. I just can’t imagine being that detached from humanity. I can’t imagine being that thoughtless and careless and so empty inside.”
